Ingraham Bands

Marching & Symphonic Band

A non-audition ensemble consisting of all grade levels, the Symphonic Band plays high level repertoire from the standard library of concert band literature. This award winning Ram Band also provides entertainment at all home football and basketball games. This band produces one halftime show for the fall season and travels to a marching festival/competition. After football season, this group performs five concerts of standard band music. Students in this ensemble also march in one or two spring parades.

Wind Ensemble

A small, audition based concert band consisting of all grade levels. The Wind Ensemble specializes in high level, contemporary wind band literature written by current composers. This band travels to one festival each year and welcomes guest clinicians on a regular basis. Members do not perform in the fall marching band or play football games. Students in this ensemble participate in our spring parade trip.

Auditions are held in May for the following fall.

Percussion Ensemble

An auditioned group consisting of all grade levels. Percussionists at Ingraham have the opportunity to learn about all facets of the percussion world, from Drum Line with the Ram Band, to providing percussion for the large ensembles at Ingraham – both the bands and orchestras. This ensemble performs at 4-5 football games per year, 5 concerts, and 1-2 parades in the spring. This ensemble also performs percussion ensemble literature.

Auditions are held in May for the following fall.

Jazz Ensembles (Jazz I and II)

An auditioned group consisting of all grade levels. Jazz bands focus on repertoire from the Big Band Era, but also play more contemporary selections. The bands travel to several festivals and competitions throughout the year. Jazz meets before school 5 days a week, and members are required to be registered in one of the large ensembles during the day.

Auditions are held the week before school starts on Monday.
